Maruti Zen Vehicles have gone through a strong increase in their selling price recently. There has been a considerable inflation in the selling prices for this model.
The retail prices for Maruti Zen cars have gone through a strong rise during the last 6 months. The average price in January was of ₹ 96,161. This price hardly went through any changes and remained at ₹ 95,492 during February. During the following two months (March, April) the average selling price experienced a noticeable rise, going up 175 % from ₹ 95,826.5 to ₹ 2.63 lakhs. The average price has had spectacular rise of 45 % with an average price of ₹ 1.8 lakhs during the previous 4 months and ₹ 2.61 lakhs during the most recent months in May and June.
The average price for Maruti Zen has had a strong rise in recent years. Between "before 2000" and 2009, the average price is ₹ 1.34 lakhs. There was a significant inflation of the average price in "before 2000" (₹ 1.02 lakhs) moving up till (₹ 1.66 lakhs)in 2009. During the next two years (2010, 2011) the price for the aforementioned model has gone up strongly a 55 %. During the last two years, prices in the car industry have gone up 5 % compared to the average values for the previous 4 years. This conclusion was reached from studying the prices for the the preceding four years in previous sample (₹ 2.19 lakhs) and the the last two years that were studied (2012, 2013) with a price of ₹ 2.31 lakhs.
The graph that displays the price for Maruti Zen cars according to their mileage shows that those cars within a mileage range of "more than 2,00,000" are the ones with the lowest price. They are 68 % more affordable than the average price (₹ 2.55 lakhs). Next with a price of ₹ 1.21 lakhs and a mileage range of "10,000 - 25,000" we would see the following vehicles. The mileage range for the most affordable cars is "50,000 - 1,00,000". It is 12% less expensive than the average market value followed by those cars with a mileage of "25,000 - 50,000" priced at ₹ 2.21 lakhs.
The graph showing the average price for the fuel type for Maruti Zen cars points out to "LPG" as being the cheapest fuel type. It is 66 % less expensive than the average market price (₹ 2.55 lakhs) followed by "Diesel" priced at ₹ 1.5 lakhs. On average the cheapest type of fuel is "Petrol". It´s price is 2 % more affordable than the average market value followed by "Hybrid" with a price of ₹ 1.54 lakhs.
